Une Histoire + Winner

Monday, June 24, 2013

Hello Everyone!
Seems like I have been away forever! Trust me when I say I have been here all along! :) I have been getting all ready for my classes in Reno Nevada at Scrapbook Paradise as well as Scrapbook Island in San Jose! So that has kept me a bit busy, also Prima just recently opened an Outlet! How fun is that? There were so many people asking for a warehouse sale and Prima answered! I was there this past weekend doing a fun make and take with Jodie Lee and it was very fun! Hope to see some of you there. Also, I had a chance to work on a project for Live With Prima in July! Wooohoo! I have missed being on Live With Prima so much!!!!! I cannot wait to be back! Here is the layout. It's called "Une Histoire" Which means A Story. Oh and this picture does have a story indeed...

Isn't it lovely? Want to learn how to make one? I will be teaching this layout on Live With Prima in July! Isn't that exciting? Also, keep an eye out for this being taught in stores! I have some stores lined up where I will be teaching as well!

I also needed to select a winner for my PaperHaus Summer Delight Giveaway! Remember that? Sorry I took so long, like I say better late than never right? OK the random generator picks:

Just a quick reminder I will be teaching at Scrapbook Paradise & Scrapbook Island next weekend! Hope to see some of you there! Thanks for stopping by!

A Wonderful Experience

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

I had never travelled outside of California. Ever. So when I found out I was asked to teach at the
Puerto  Rico Scrapbook Event I was both excited and nervous. I can only say THANK YOU to all the wonderful people in Puerto Rico. Never have I experienced such passion, excitement, and the hospitality anywhere else. My students were so wonderful, sweet, and nice. It almost felt like a paradise really. It was truly an experience like no other I have had. So, with that being said I want to thank Yamille, who organized the whole event. She has so much energy and is so passionate about this craft as I am. Thank You. Not only did I get to meet some wonderful people but I also travelled with my crafty sidekick Jodie Lee. She had a blast as well, she even danced! Oh there was tons of dancing there. Like TONS. That's what made this event stand out really. People were going to take a class and scrapbook, but it was all about having FUN. I think this needs to come back to scrapbooking here in the states. Anyway, I also got to meet some amazing teachers, Vicki Boutin, Teresa Collins and Layle Koncar from Simple Stories. At the end of the event we all became great friends, and we had lots of great laughs, and funny moments. I was dying to share these layouts which are the ones I taught there. I used the Prima Fairy Rhymes Collection designed by Jodie Lee. I gotta say these layouts were truly a favorite for me. I loved creating them, and also loved teaching them as well.
Warning: this will be a VERY LONG post. :)

Love them. Really I do. All three really are meaningful to me. The simplicity of the papers mixed with the beauty of the flowers and patterns. Just wow. So these are the layouts I taught at the Puerto Rico Event. They were a complete hit. People loved them, and I loved teaching them. They are so much fun.

Here are some highlights:

Yeah it was amazing. Yes, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I guess there is something about going to another country you have never been to before and coming to the realization that people are so sweet, humble and honest. I have never experienced so MUCH love, so much SUPPORT. Ever. I wish the whole world could come and see Puerto Rico, it's just a different atmosphere. The people are just beautiful. We need that. We need nice and supporting people, especially loving people in our industry. Without that, we won't have scrapbooking for long and it will not be about friendship, fun and family anymore. I learned so much, this is an experience I will never forget. ever.
