My talented, lovely and dear friend Tammy awarded me the Liebster Award, she is so sweet and it is truly an honor to receive this award. She is the sweetest so please visit her and leave her some love!

About the award: “Liebster” is a German word meaning dearest, beloved or favorite, and the Liebster Award is sort of a chain letter among bloggers that’s intended to showcase exceptional up-and-coming blogs (typically, those with 200 or fewer followers). There’s no evaluation committee or formal award process for the Liebster, but in a way it’s even nicer – it’s recognition that a peer has noticed and appreciated your hard work.

Here are the rules:• Choose 5 up and coming blogs of fewer than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.
• Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
• Post the award on your blog. Link back to the blogs you have given the Liebster to so everyone else can pay them a visit.

Here are my picks to receive this wonderful award these ladies always inspire me with their blogs in one way or another! Thank You!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have an amazing week!!!

Mojo Monday Sketch

Monday, January 16, 2012

Hi Crafters and Happy Monday!
Wheewww what a busy weekend at work, we are in the middle of a heavy cleaning week and it is tough work! After Holiday clean up is really tough!
Well I have an awesome Monday Mojo sketch to help your creativity get flowing this week, and it comes from the fabulous Creative Team Member Tammy from our Flying Unicorn CT! I used the awesome sketch to create this lovely layout. A little background on the layout, first thing that might catch your eye, the picture lol. Yes, it is Pikachu and Piplup from Pokemon lol. They have a special meaning in me and dh's life. We carry them with us on our daily adventures, as cheesy as that might sound, they are some fun companions to have around. This is the sketch:

Awesome right? Love the flowers and the circles and all of the lovely swirls. Here is my take on it!

Love all the bits and pieces, You know that twine is such an awesome touch to any project, been using it a lot and I really love the look, a quick tip on empty space, I used some Studio Calico White Mist to exaggerate the empty space and have something interesting there. It works wonderfully.
Well hope I was able to inspire you today, hope everyone has an awesome Monday!
Thanks for stopping by!

American Idol Hollywood Week!

Friday, January 13, 2012

Hello fellow crafters!
It's been a warm week here in Los Angeles, where is all the cold weather gone to? It's still Winter I think? I am having a blast with the American Idol challenge going on at Flying Unicorn store, so fun and creative, this is the second layout for this challenge, I really enjoyed working on this one. It's really amazing what a single stamp can do for you. I used this stamp set by Tim Holtz & Stamper's Anonymous to create the background for this layout, the result? A new and fresh background, on an  otherwise plain patterned paper. I love the look and feel of the colors, so I decided to go with a soft palette. OH and those flowers were created by me! Iv'e been creating flowers lately, it was so much fun! Take a look!

Really had fun working on this one, loving the colors and the flowers! You should try the background technique it was so much fun! I hope you get a chance and visit our FORUMS for some inspiration and tons of fun! We have amazing challenges running, and you can keep up with the latest American idol Flying Unicorn events as we go!

Thanks for stopping by Happy Weekend!

American Idol + January 2012

Thursday, January 5, 2012

Hi my fellow crafters!!! WOW I have been working on a few projects this week between work and all it's been a fun past couple of days scrappin the nights away! SO last year's monthly layouts were such a huge success that I decided to do them again this year. It's always fun to see the different styles and evolution that your creativity takes! Of course Flying Unicorn always has fresh and amazing challenges to keep your creativity busy, so I took on the American Idol Challenge that is going on over at the forums. I had never seen such a challenge, unique and fresh and oh so fun!! I decided to make my January layout based on this challenge, which was to select an artist from a couple of listed cities and use one of their songs and incorporate it into your project. It could be a card, layout, or journal. I made a layout:

Love all the clustering yumminess, and that twine was part of some packaging I received for a Christmas Swap (thanks Cathi), I handmade some of the embellies the hearts, the ticket, and the flags. I have an obsession with flags at the moment haha. I hope you have a chance to join us, we are having so much fun over there! What an amazing chance to win a prize!

Thanks for stopping by!
