Project W017: Journal & Handmade Felt Pocket

Friday, July 6, 2012

Happy Friday!
Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July! I certainly did! I stayed home, relaxed, made some hot dogs on the grill, and of course scrapped a bit, and played with some exciting goodies! I recently bought some of the new Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, and really wanted to play with them, I also had a few people email me about incorporating sewing into my projects, well I am not very good at it, but I think that adds a lot of originality to your project. I sure know the basics, and that is enough to get by!

For this project I made a lovely felt pocket, it was hand sown, and of course some amazing mists went into this, look at all those colors on the felt, can you believe it used to be white? I was inspired by a molten lava cake I had on the 4th of July, so you can really tell the chocolatiness of this project! LOVE these yummy colors, oh and the molten UTEE on the felt, who said we cannot be mixed media artists! Take a look:

What can I say? I love the vintage look of this! Did you see those 7 Gypsies Book Covers? Ah yes, the amazing Jodie Lee sent them to me to play with, and ah! So beautiful and vintage goodness! They are at her Etsy Store, as well as those lovely Nature Garden and Ledger Papers as well, visit her HERE.

Here are your project sheets:
