Mixed Media Layout

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Bonjour! Hello! Hello!

Happy Tuesday Everyone! I had the chance to scrap my heart out this weekend, stayed up late, had some crepes I made, and sat and scrapped. I gotta say it felt good scrapping until 2am, I think I am at my most creative then. So its no surprise I wanted to play with some inks, and gesso!

I really love mixed media layouts, I recently started to fall more and more in love with them and I guess I am now hooked! Mixed Media to me means using different mediums to create a piece of art that is truly yours, that media can include, acrylic paint, gesso, modeling paste, molding gel, oil paints etc. So for my layout I used tons of gesso, some cream acrylic paints, and some lovely Glimmer Mist Inks, as well as some October Afternoon Sprinklers, as they call them, such a cute name.

Did you see that scrunchy looking flower? Isn't Prima simply amazing? I really love the colors I achieved with the different mists and inks, it really gives it a warm, Summer feel don't you think? Love the quote as well, super fitting for this layout.

Well I hope I inspired you a bit with this layout, I couldn't wait to share it! I really like how it turned out! OH did you see the masking up there? Yep, love it, and I masked it using gesso, COOOOL! lol

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Frank! FrankFrankFrank! This is hands down, my most favorite page I've seen you do. The colors are beyond gorgeous and you balanced and blended them perfectly. You should definitely make gesso, modeling paste, mists, masking, ALL OF IT, part of your regular motif.
