Project W004: Stamped Background & Layering 101

Friday, April 6, 2012

Happy Friday Crafters!
I have a special Project W Sheet for you all today. Why is it special? Well because I went and visited the style I started scrapping initially with. Since its Spring, I went with a bright fun palette. What a perfect chance it was to dig into my American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Collection by the wonderful Elizabeth Kartchner. I had the most amazing opportunity to meet her in person, and she is as sweet as she looks! I wanted to focus on the idea of layering on this project sheet. I always get a lot of question about how I layer, and if there is any tricks? Well, there isn't lol. However, there are ways to achieve dimension and layering and the next couple of Project Sheets will focus on layering.

First I want to share the layout I made for this project sheet. I am in scrappy heaven with it, really fun, the papers and embellies really make it pop.

Lovely eh? Had so much fun doing this layout and project sheet and I hope you do too!! Hope Liz sees this Hi Liz!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a creative weekend!!

  4. Hi Frank. Your layout is fabulous...love all the embellishments and your layering. Your tutorial sheets are so pretty and professional. You said "Layering occurs naturally, don't over think it, go with your instinct." Oh my friend...it's not natural for some of us and my instinct is FEAR. I see one dimension most of the times and if it's more than that you know I'm using a sketch or another layout to copy. Have a nice weekend.

  5. Diana, if your instinct is FEAR, you're obviously wearing too short a skirt in the bad part of town! You've gotta imagine yourself on the right side of town, in the same skit, but with the same embellishments.

Do *I* know what I'm talking about? No. I'm drunk. But Frank, I love you. Let's meet in Vegas! Wanna go?! Downtown, nasty Vegas, tho- I'm not that classy. I'll pack booze n the check on, you bring liquid adhesives.

I PROMISE, it will be fun. Imagine the publicity.

  8. Excellent Tutorial Frank!!!! Love the idea of stamping onto a patterned background. I've done it on one that's plain before, but it never occurred to me to try it out on one with a design. Can't wait to try it out.

(& yes, I'll try & head on to the forums too & say Hi :) )Pxx
