'Easter with Family'....a Layout

Monday, May 23, 2011

Good Monday morning everyone. I hope your weekend went well...time goes fast I know.

Today will be my last May Guest Designer post for Frank.  Again, thanks Frank for asking me to do this. It has been fun and I've met some new fabulous people.

This two-page spread, I'm sharing, features pictures of my family when we gathered for Easter dinner. It took me awhile to come up with paper that incorporated the red clothes worn by my son and his wife. Everyone else was in pastels.  The patterned paper has flowers with a medium red and pinks in them....so it works for my eye. I want to share that the colors on these layouts are more vibrant than appear here... very hard to take good pictures on gray cloudy days.

The font on these layouts is from the Cricut cartridge Gypsy Font.

That small 'nest' for the three eggs is a piece of twine I had laying around. The eggs are cut using the Cricut cartridge Easter 2010.

The ribbon was purchased at Jo Ann's and is on a roll.

The little pink flowers were the 'leftovers' from the pink egg in the nest. When I lifted the egg the little flowers were left on the cutting mat. I like using the 'freebees'.

The scalloped circle and green piece are cut using the Cricut cartridge Easter 2010, the word "family" is cut from the cartridge Lacy Labels.

Thank you for reading and looking at these layouts. I had fun doing them and sharing them with you. Also thank you for checking out my blog. Please visit anytime. Take care.

...MUD Splash Down....Layout

Monday, May 16, 2011

Good Monday morning. Diana Joy here posting as a Guest Blogger for Frank.  As I type this post it is pouring rain outside and I can see lots of mud around; but the mud my Granddaughter played in was up north in the Tulip Fields we visited several weeks ago.

My daughter is playful and wanted her daughter to have new experiences in the tulip fields. She packed lots of extra clothes so baby could get down and dirty.  She did and it was fun. Granddaughter investigated a mud puddle that was between two tulip rows. It's pretty hard to take pictures when you are laughing....

I did a two-page layout spread with the mud pictures. Here they are:

This is the left layout....

Here are two closeups:
The first time I saw those rain boots on the Cricut cartridge "April Showers" I knew I'd have to use them sometime.....aren't they just so cute??  I'll use them again I know.  The directional sign is from the cartridge "Walk In My Garden".  I added the words and the two brads.

The two layouts together:

This is the right side of the two-pager:

A few closeups:
The word "discover" was cut from the Cricut cartridge "Graphically Speaking"

If you want information about the punched strips (brown on yellow) in these layouts please see my blog: http://oh-for-joy.blogspot.com/2011/05/mud-splash-downlayout.html

Thank you Frank for asking me to Guest Blog and thank you everyone for reading. Have a crafty week.   Diana Joy
