Back From My Daycation + May Designer!

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Hi everyone!! I am back from San Diego, I took a little daycation with hubby and all I can say is I had a blast. I had not been anywhere outside of Los Angeles for years, and even though San Diego is only a 2 hour drive away it felt so nice to get away, we had so much fun and I will be sharing with you guys some of the pictures we took, and of course some yummy layouts!! I also wanted to take the opportunity to thank my April designer, Marilyn Rivera, and also I am introducing my May Designer; Diana Joy!! Let's get to know her a little better:

1. “How did you get started in scrapbooking?”  I purchased a Scrapbooking magazine in late 2003 and read it cover to cover. I decided I was going to try ‘it’ with some photos I knew I would have from a trip planned to Italy in early 2004. That spring I bought my first supplies and got started on an album. I've been hooked since.
2.“What inspires you?” I am inspired by color, simple design lines, small details and nature.
3. “When do you find time to scrap?” That is easier now that I am retired (woohoo). My most creative time, though, is in the a.m. I love to roll out of bed and head straight to my scrap room.
4. “What is your favorite scrappy brand?”: My Little Bicycle. I love their papers, embellishments and they have the best striped paper around. I also like K&Company.
5. “What is something about you most people don’t know?”  I owned a successful Cake Decorating business for 6 years.

Thank You Diana for sharing a little about you, and I am so happy to have you on my blog for this month, wow not only are you a great crafter but you had a cake business!! So fun! We will be seeing Diana's first layout soon, so stay tuned for that. Meanwhile I wanted to share a fun card I made to thank someone (you know who you are), take a look:

Fun, fun colors, and loving those cute arrows! Thank you for stopping by today, and be sure to visit Diana's blog here. Thanks everyone for the lovely comments, enjoy your Sunday.

  2. Your card is fabulous and so fun. I've never been to San Diego and would love to go. My brother lived there for a bit and said it is fabulous. Glad you two had a getaway...they are refreshing.
