Fall Again....

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Whew!!! Its been such a busy week, mid-terms can be really time consuming. Thankfully I got some time to update you guys on some things that have been going on in my life, I went pumpkin picking, so look forward to uploading some pictures, and layouts of course. I am battling my DSL company over my slow speed, so that has also kept me occupied. I am glad to share a LO I did today though, after getting some time to myself. Its a Fall Layout, although I kind of made it look very nature-ish, I am still not feeling Fall with this crazy weather but I am getting there, take a look:

I love the bees, how they are buzzing around, the page blended with my table, haha it is a white paper.

I love the ruffle I made in the middle its so fun, I also added a lot of dimensional accents that I found laying around, and some K&Company letters to spell out the Fall. Overall I loved working on this page it is fun. I hope to share my other layout I am working on soon. For now happy Sunday.

Product Review: Martha Stewart Rotary Cutter

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Hello everyone, its been such beautiful weather in LA recently, these past few days have been cloudy with the promise of rain, which has not happened for some reason. I think we won't have the luck to see it rain anymore over here, but at least the cloudy weather is nice. Today I wanted to take a chance and review the rotary cutter from Martha Stewart:

So I purchased this cutter because I always have trouble cutting straight line cuts. Its very versatile it has a nice handle grip, it has replaceable rotary heads that have different cutting patterns which are fun to use for borders or mats. The cutter itself is very useful, personally however I found myself cutting crooked lines anyway so I ended up buying this ruler:

This ruler is actually made for the rotary cutter since it has a guide that fits perfectly with an edge that the cutter has on the side, it guides the cutter in a straight line so you get a clean perfect cut. Without this ruler cutting a straight like can be a mess. The blades seem pretty long lasting Iv'e had them for a couple of months and they are still pretty sharp. There is replacements available however, if it runs a bit dull.

All in all it can be a useful tool if used properly, I myself couldnt use it without the ruler, but with a steady hand and patience its possible. Ultimately I give it a 8 out of 10.

Thanks for stopping by, I am working on some new fall pages I will post soon so stay tuned.

Pumpkin Aficionados!

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Today I thought I would share some pumpkin carving layouts I did last year with both my besty Lucy and hubby. As you can tell my laptop is working again! YAY! The thing is, I didnt get it fixed, it pretty much started working by itself. Anyway, pumpkin carving is one of my favorite Fall activities, I love picking them, carving them, displaying them it is so much fun, I haven't gotten to it this year but I hopefully will go next week and buy some. Last year I bought them to early and they didn't last too long. Take a look:

I love this pumpkin filled page very fun

A close-up

Mine turned out like a Picasso inspired face, my friend did a more classical jack-o-lantern, and my hubby started out wanting to do a window and cat shape, but it fell apart, so his was just a window.... too cute.

Here is a pumpkin picking page.

I love these pumpkin stickers and that little hay strip very cute.

Well these are some of the layouts I made for last year in October, once I get some carving action this upcoming week I will post some pictures!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday, October 10, 2010

My 5 month old laptop broke down and now I am forced to post from my phone, sorry if they come out weird, I promise to get them straightened out once I get my lappy fixed. But for now I wanted to share a layout I made, my hubby got his personal trainer certificate a couple of days ago and I couldn't be more proud of him, not only can he train people and is certified but he can now get his dream job at the gym! I'm very happy and excited for him. So this layout details when he got his certificate :

Pretty simple layout I love the thickers and the cute felt banner, I finally got to use my Martha punch as well.

Thanks for stopping by have a great Sunday!

Baby Shower Egg Card

Sunday, October 3, 2010

I had the chance to go to a baby shower for Lucy's brother's girlfriend who has been blessed with having twins! It was very fun and I also made a fun card holder which I thought was cute. I started out with a recipe box, wrapped it in some cardstock and then added some ribbon, you can really decorate it any way you like. I then cut an egg shape and made it look cracked, put some little stickers on it and placed the bottom part on the bottom of the box and the upper part on top making sure that when closed the egg looked complete. I then added two little chicks on which I wrote my message. Take a look:

October

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Well yesterday was a blast, I had a great Birthday, had so much fun at Disneyland, ate some fine Italian food at Buca di Beppo with some great friends, what can I say, it was my best birthday ever. I saw World Of Color and of course took a lot of different pictures. I managed to make my October page today, I love October it is my favorite month, not only because it is my birthday month, but because of Halloween and also because I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin picking, everything pumpkin!!! I love carving pumpkin as well I think this year's design is going to be something like this:

This page I made by cutting some strips of Halloween blabber, I love all of those words, very nice words that describe the Halloween month of October, I also used some creepy letters, and some K&Company chipboard creepies, which are more cute than scary take a look:

Thank You for stopping by I will be posting some nice pictures soon, as soon as I get all my stuff organized, for now I wish you a happy Sunday.
