It's Monday again, I am a week away from finishing my summer class, it went by so quick. Luckily I got some time to work on a new page this past weekend. Its pretty nice weather, and that inspired me to do something different. I used some of the yarn I had used in my last page, and I am loving how this yarn works, its so versatile and I can use it for nearly anything. Its great! So for this particular page I decided to go with yarn circles over a page that was sort of a recipe page, so they kind of look like candies floating, I used some of those sassafrass letters, spelled out lovely, since it is such a lovely picture of me and hubby on a fine summer day.
In love with this person
I am working on another layout using some different yarn I will keep all of you updated, until next time, have fun scrappin'!

So I strolled into a Michaels today just to check out if they had anything new, while I was walking through the aisles, I came upon their clearance section, now normally I don't check out this section either because most stuff isn't quite a bargain, or because nothing catches my eye. However, while digging through their I found quite a gem, a Sassafrass paper pad, a rare item and a brand that sadly Michaels no longer carried. It was $9.99 which was on clearance from the regular $24.99 price. In a heartbeat I decided to buy it. While I approached the counter the nice clerk rang me up, after scanning it rang up as 0.01, a penny. Now I know what you are thinking, how could this be? Well Michaels has a funny way of putting stock out of their system they don't completely get rid of it but rather they price it as a penny. Which is not very smart, but who am I to criticize their business tactics, ( not long ago I bought a framed painting there priced the same and I took it for a penny thanks to the manager there) I expected no less in this case. However, the manager said I couldn't but it because it was recalled, excuse me? How can a paper pad be recalled and its sitting on your shelf? I normally don't fuss about those things but, A) It was a Sassafrass pad and B) You are being a liar and a jerk. So I acted like a upset customer would and demanded the price. After a few more minutes of discussion with the manager about why he couldn't sell it to me and why it was recalled, I was able to buy it for $1.00, which to me meant free. I strolled out with a big smile, and well I was a satisfied customer which overall is what customer service is all about.
I typically don't enjoy hot weather or Summer in general, but year after year I generally take wonderful pictures during that time, and best of all I get to use bright colors for my layouts that I cant use during any other time of the year. I used a neutral color in the background, and used an orange Basic Grey paper, a 12 x 12 sheet. I cut that one up in little squares about one and a half inch, and I started to glue them onto the background page making some stand out with pop dots. After two days I was done, its time consuming, and a bit tiring to stick all the squares but once done it looks great. After that I cut out a couple of rockets from a K&Company paper I had laying around from their Daydreams collection. Added some yarn and a couple of rockets later I was done, I love how it turned out..

This morning I woke up to some rain, it's about 98 degrees here in Los Angeles the rain feels hot, and it's musty and I hate it, but the strange thing was that there was rain!! In the middle of July!! Who would think of such nonsense!
Just thought I would share this with you guys, I'll be posting some new stuff soon and I'm gonna give the site a new look as well stay tuned!
Hello and Happy Cloudy Sunday everyone, it seems that the strange weather continues here in LA. Hopefully it stays like that. I was working on this page for a couple of days and finally I felt good with it. I started out with a My Minds Eye sheet of this beautiful green striped paper, and I followed on by adding some vintage tickets, and cut-outs these are by Tim Holtz (In love with his stuff), and then I added that time piece, and a little mask on the lower corner, which you can see in the video tutorial right below this post, I added a little journaling that says " A fan of going to vitamin shoppe with a big smile", my hubby loves going to that store we always come out with stuff he likes. I also added my new spinners, and a couple of epoxy stickers I had hanging around. I also love that key, it was a last minute addition.
It took me a while to choose what I wanted to go with in July, I am trying to make a page for every month, its a new thing I'm doing, so here is my July layout. I wasnt trying to do anything too summer because to be honest, it doesnt even feel like summer over here in Los Angeles, the weather has been so off, it even rained last tuesday for a little bit. I really dont mind it though, I love rainy days and cloudy days, although I know its probably temporary. I have a feeling this year summer will run till August or even September! How scary. Anyway, for this layout I used some new paper by My Mind's Eye, I am soo blown away by their stuff its so amazing, I absolutely love their vintage line its so beautiful. This particular page I added some spinner arrows, I also love the fingers pointing to the picture, it gives it that direct attention. I also used those wonderful purple letters Ive been using that look wonderful.
Love the paper
Loving the font!
I added some stamping and some metal, I love the pic of the flapper in that metal frame quite the accent.
My sister turned 20 on June 30th, I am so very proud of her and I love seeing her grow up, she's a great person and a wonderful sister, couldn't have wished for anyone else. I used my Basic Grey pad for this layout, I wanted to add some flowers that resembled growth, I also used some Tim Holtz Grunge Board and spelled out shes 20, I loved stamping on that stuff its so flexible and multi-use. I added a bit of journaling and some bling to finish it off, a simple page but very meaningful to me.
Happy 4th of July America, I hope all of you have a safe and happy fourth of July filled with cheer and lots of fireworks. I hope to see some new July layouts soon I know I will be working on some tonight!
Happy July everyone! A new month is in and that means new pages and of course new friends. I recently introduced my hubby to my sister. We went to see Eclipse on her birthday which was June 30 and we took some grand pictures! They turned out great, so great that I had to print them at home I just couldnt wait. I just fell in love with Basic Grey. I knew they had been around for some time but never really paid attention to their stuff. Let me say its just great paper and accents very colorful and high quality, I am stoked! So I used this paper pad I just bought called Basic Grey : Offbeat Collection, its trippy, colorful, playful and fresh. That's really what motivated me to make this page. My sister and Warmy are fresh new buddies, and all three of us are besties now.
I love the font on those stickers
Thanks for stopping by have a fun and safe weekend!
